How Good Can You Stand It?

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Well all say we want the best out of life. We talk about getting rich, being in love, and getting into great shape.

But many people - myself included at one time in my life - don’t really feel like we deserve the best life has to offer. Consider these questions carefully and honestly:

When you have plenty of money in the bank do you ever feel uncomfortable and have the unexplainable urge to blow it?

When you are in a good relationship with someone do you think there must be a limit to how long it can last because it’s “just normal” for relationships to go bad at some point?

When things are going really great for you in life, do you feel on edge and as if something major and bad is going to hit you at any moment?

If you can identify with these or other related feelings, you probably have some worthiness issues. While this is common, it should not be considered “normal” or healthy self esteem.

The truth is you deserve to have a great life. The divine wants you to be happy and blessed, and there is no need to feel uncomfortable or embarassed when things are looking up for you.

PRactice immersing yourself in the ideal life, even if this means imagining it, and really feel at home. Know on a deep level that you are supposed to be in a state of bliss and satisfaction.

You honestly deserve this. Don’t rob yourself of an exciting life by not letting yourself have the happiness that is rightfully yours!

Be Happy Now

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

It’s easy to postpone happiness until we achieve our most recent list of goals and dreams. We often tell ourselves that we’ll be happy once we have this, or once we get that done.

The problem of course, is that such thinking is both circular and self-defeating. It’s great to have goals; they keep life fun and challenging.

But those of us in the developed world need to get a grip and slow down for just a second!

The truth is happiness is a choice and nothing more. You can decide right now to be happy for the rest of the day.

It sounds simplistic because it is. Force yourself to smile right now and hold the position for two minutes.

I guarantee you’ll feel legitimately happier thereafter. We make this whole game of life way too complex; any time we choose we can become truly happy.

And of course practicing this power will get you closer to all the fun stuff you want to have and experience in life! My challenge to you right now:

Regardless of your circumstances today, decide to be happy and thankful for all the goodness in your life. Look…

I once lived in my car for an entire summer because I was so broke. When business slows down for me these days I look back to that summer and have myself a good laugh!

Life is good, and we are so blessed just to be a part of it. Get good at being happy in the now, and you’ll open up a whole new world of power and possibility.
