How To Be Truly Free

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

This blog is about abundant living and manifestation/attraction. But these themes are just organized words.

These articles are really about being happy and having the life we want.

I talk a lot about focused intention, visualizing the ideal reality, channeling the subtle life force toward our goals, etc. But what’s even more important than all of this is cultivating the ability to just let go and be free from your desires.

It’s great to know exactly what we want in life. And it’s wonderful to learn to vibrate in alignment with these gifts.

But we should never let these exercises get in the way of living. Once we have done our part, focused our vibration and painted a clear and vivid picture of the life we desire, we need to get back to the joy of living the life we have right now.

This is paradoxical. It can be counterintuitive and it’s always the most difficult thing for people to grasp when they are learning to co-create their life.

But it’s vitally important to our happiness. And it’s the key to being able to consistently manifest the life we desire.

Life happens here in this moment. Right now is our gift of living and being free.

We can and should intend growth and change, but then we need to relax and enjoy the process as it unfolds. We can’t watch the clock and wonder “How come it’s not happening yet?” and if we do we only sabotage our efforts.

Know what you want. Feel it like it’s already here, visualize and affirm, and do everything you feel must be done to direct the essence of life toward the creation of your ideal vision.

And then smile and let go. Allow yourself to relax and be free from the need to change.

When you are held captive by the way you want things to be, you are unable to live in the present moment. And even if you believe things in the now are not as they should be, you have created the current results for a reason; perhaps to learn from the contrast what you prefer.

You and I may never fully know all the “whys” in life. It’s futile and tiring to live constantly demanding an answer.

The ultimate freedom lies in the balance between having joyful desires but being willing to accept even better blessings. Let go of the need for precise results and know the greatest good is working in your favor (as long as you broadcast vibrations of love and abundance) . Be free to live your life today without concern for what is coming tomorrow.

Trying Too Hard Can Block Your Power

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

It’s hard for most of us to let go. We want to be proactive, hands-on, and fully involved.

But when we try to hard, overthink, and just refuse to let go and allow things to flow, we risk pinching ourselves off from the source of all abundance. Life is not meant to be a dire struggle, yet many of us are addicted to the idea of struggling, pushing, and working hard to “make things happen”.

When I was younger I didn’t care much about money or responsibility. To be honest I spent most of my days drinking beer, chasing women (most of whom ignored me), and just goofing off.

I had fun. And I never went without anything.

In fact things just had a way of coming into my life. I always had enough money to get by, people gave me cars, and food & shelter were always plentiful.

Of course I eventually started thinking about having more money. And I decided to “grow up” and start working hard.

I made many big changes in my life, but the going was rough. While I was making substantial progress, it seemed there was a ceiling on how good things could get.

After a few years of traditional J-O-Bs I was able to start working from home. And I made more and more money each year.

But at the same time, I was never able to really break free and experience the kind of abundance I wanted. Money would come in, stay for a while, then vanish and I’d really have to struggle to get it back.

This went on for a long time. Then one day as I reflected on my “past life” as a drunken couch surfer with no worries, I had an epiphany.

No, I didn’t decide to start drinking again and shut down my business. I just realized that I had forgotten how to relax and allow blessings to flow to me in the natural manner.

It wasn’t until I really began to let go of my own need to control things that my life began to unfold in the wonderful way I truly wanted. Hard work, goals, and discipline are great, and all have their place in this life.

But more important than all of these is the ability to trust the greatest good to flow through our lives. Our dreams begin to manifest when we can focus on what we want, put in a little hard work to get it, and then let go and allow things to come together without micro-managing.

Every great teacher of manifestation talks about letting go and allowing. Yet somehow these concepts are easily lost, as we strive to work work work and push things forward, so to speak.

I’m reminded of a passage from the Tao Te Ching:

“Good work is done and then forgotten, and thus it lasts forever.”

I thought I understood this verse long ago. But now, having actively studied the laws of attraction and abundance for some time, I see these wonderful words with a new and powerful clarity.

My highest aspiration now is to trust, allow, and let the great life I want manifest. Does this mean I’m all done working and setting goals?

OF COURSE NOT!

But rather than work and strain under the guidance of my ego mind, I must allow inspiration to lead my efforts. When I move from my intuitive center I am always on track to create the best possible results.

At the same time, when I expect miracles in my daily life, and wake up each day with the utmost faith that incredible things are going to happen all around me, I am harnessing the power to build worlds within my small corner of creation.

Do you find yourself often furrowing your brow, tensing up at the shoulders, and really leaning into your work with a kind of tired resignation, yet feeling always as if your dreams are just out of reach? If so begin to cultivate hte practice of just letting go and trusting the greatest good to flow naturally.

It’s incredible what happens within a small frame of time when you combine this kind of relaxed faith with confident visualization and moment-by-moment gratitude. The world has a way of opening up when you are in alignment with this simple philosophy…

The Game Of Manifestation

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

It’s easy to take life and the things we want too seriously. But it’s important to remember…

Our life is not as real as we sometimes think it is. We are manifestations of the Universe, and this phenomenon we call life is only a small part of that.

William Walker Atkinson, author of Thought Vibrations wrote:

The things we see around us are the playthings of the Kindergarten of God, playthings which we use for our game tasks. Help yourself to them - ask for them without bashfulness and demand as many as you can make use of…

There’s something quite empowering about this notion. When we begin to think of life and all the things we want to do and have in the right context it becomes clear that we really can have all we desire.

We are part of the greater whole, as are all things around us. By wanting this or that, we are only asking for what is already a part of us.

It’s all worth a good laugh really. Money, love, health - all of these things are ours by right and we need not worry about offending God by asking for and expecting what is rightfully ours.

Sometimes it’s good to step back from our “serious” desires and just play the game. Letting go of deep needs and just having fun with it all is the sure way to attract and manifest all that we want and love.
