Understanding Life Is On Your Side

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

The universe is a friendly place. And life is on your side.

Making this connection may be the best thing you can do in terms of realizing your own creative power. Life actually wants to give you what you desire, and in most cases you are blocking or resisting the process.

Your “job” is less about working hard and putting the pieces together and more about having faith in the flow and allowing things to come together for you. Once you understand that all of universal reality is basically supporting you and moving you forward it becomes pretty easy to see yourself achieving basic things like money and love.

Consider This…

Since the start of history - and probably before - humanity has sought a relationship with the intelligent universe. Divinity, creation, god, life, the Tao, and hundreds of other words exemplify our efforts to discuss the intangible, thinking substance from which all of life springs.

Let’s put aside any specific religious beliefs, as well as any aversion to spiritual concepts. And let’s just have a look at the basic science of life.

Everything that we know of in the universe, from thought and sound to the most solid matter, consists of energy. In fact the energetic foundation of all things- solid, liquid, gas, light, sound, electricity, ALL of it - exists in wave form.

Even solid matter is just a wave of potential energy until it is observed via consciousness.

This sounds pretty wild, but it’s a basic fundamental law of science. I’m not a trained scientist, but there is more than enough free information published online by researchers, universities, and scientific organizations to verify what I’m saying.

All things are made of vibrating information that can take form according to how it is viewed by the creative force of consciousness. This notion becomes even more compelling when you think about how our brains work, i.e. how we see, hear, etc. with certain parts of our brain and not with our sense organs.

My point is this: Everything in the universe, at the most basic level, is very much like a thought.

It is indeed safe to say that life, the universe, etc. is intelligent.

And it’s also easy to prove this intelligent basic force has your best interests at heart. Just look at the core mechanics of biology.

Think of how a seed becomes a plant, grows, flourishes, and by the simple act of living creates hundreds of new seeds to perpetuate the life cycle. Look at the infinite examples of intelligent planning found in nature.

Look at your own makeup. The systems and cells in your body are beyond amazing.

Miles of blood vessels and one seriously powerful pump keep blood and nutrients flowing throughout your physical form every second of every day without your having to give a thought to the whole process. Your organs automatically handle the digestion and allocation of specific fuels and building materials throughout every system of your body, again without your needing to plan and think.

You have a highly sophisticated emotional guidance system that tells you in every moment whether or not the future you are currently creating is in alignment with your desires. You even have an intuitive center that gives you the right answer to your questions every time once you learn to listen.

You are no accident. You came to be on purpose, and the whole of life is supporting not only your survival, but your prosperity… if you let it.

Practice believing life is on your side. Cultivate the acceptance of purpose and design, and begin to look for signs that intelligent universal substance is supporting your highest good.

Once you come to believe that life is friendly, and the universe wants you to thrive, your whole perspective will be refreshed. This shift of paradigm is astonishingly powerful and for many people it’s the only thing needed to begin living at a much fuller capacity.

Trusting Creation To Care For You

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

I believe trust is one of the most powerful elements of a truly abundant life. And it’s certainly a key part of the manifestation process.

It’s easy to get caught up in the doing. We often cannot detach ourselves from the process of creating the life we want, and this causes tension.

In other words, there is the tendency to want to take the wheel and be fully in control of the situation. Our egos convince us that in order to attain the life we desire we must furrow our brows, strain our shoulders & back, and work furiously toward the goal.

Hard work has its place. But it’s seriously overrated in most cases.

We really don’t need to struggle to have an amazing life. In fact all evidence suggests that creation wants to heap wonderful things on us day after day.

When I look back over my life, I see a clear pattern: Wonderful people have come into my life, and I’ve always had more than enough to be happy about.

There have been times of lack and struggle, but the truth is I created every single incident by resisting the natural flow or by being blatantly lazy. When I simply trust and allow I am always cared for and most of the time I receive more than I need.

A never-ending stream of marvelous suprises awaits each one of us. This, I believe is the nature of the life experience.

A great way to get in touch with your ability to trust the Universe is to take an unscheduled day off. Don’t work, don’t plan, and don’t spend any time worrying about your problems. Just take a day off to be grateful for everything you have and to listen for the subtle inspiration that will tell you what to do next.

You might not receive any clear signs. Then again your eyes may be forever opened by a life-changing event.

But the point of this exercise is really just to practice trusting. Be mindful of the fact that you will be cared for, and your needs will not only be met, but exceeded.

Often when people hear this, they counter with questions about suffering in the world. If creation cares about us why is there famine and disease around the world?

Well… I don’t know. I believe there is evidence to suggest that much of the pain and suffering in the world is manufactured by people who want to perpetuate such energies. But I don’t want to divert this post into a conspiracy theory so I’ll just say I don’t have the answer to why people suffer in starving nations.

But I do believe in the core principal of trusting creation or divinity to care for me. This realization has been profound for me. The truth that I am cared for and all my needs are seen to if I simply trust and allow is abundantly clear; I’ve seen it happen too many times in the past to discount it.

And I believe this can be true for others as well. In fact I think this level of cosmic trust is more powerful than any other method of accessing the law of attraction.

Joe Vitale calls it “Letting Go” in his book, The Attractor Factor. And I challenge all readers of this blog to look closely at the value of trusting and allowing over the next few days.

Is it possible that in doing this, we are letting our higher minds guide the course of our life? I believe so.

Our ego minds are incredible, and quite useful for many things in life. But as Eckhart Tolle eloquently points out, the always-thinking ego is of little use for determining who we really are.

Letting go and trusting is the act (or nonaction) of allowing divine inspiration to enter our lives. It is the detachment spoken of in ancient texts, and it is the key to blessings and fulfillment beyond anything we can conjure up with our ego.

Moment To Moment Bliss

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Life is the experience of moment to moment bliss. Every time you become aware of a new moment, there is available to you a torrent of happiness and joy.

And whenever you are not aware of the moment - when you are in a pure state of timelessness, then too do you have access to endless bliss.

This post is not about happy thoughts or looking to the upside of life. It’s an attempt to put into words the basic nature of simply being alive.

This of course cannot truly be done, but by making an attempt it’s my hope that I will point a few readers toward the truth of the present moment.

When you step away from the immediate demands of your ego, and let go of all the things your mind tells you it must have you find the peace of right now. Nothing needs to be added to this moment to make it right, as it is perfect in its purity and stillness.

The daily practice of meditation and the ongoing allowance of mindfulness will set you free from the worry, confusion, and grasping that billions of people will take to their graves. You do not have to live a life of stress and chaos.

When you let go and embrace nothing but the moment, being aware only of the feelings of your body, the subtle flow of your own energy, and the space that surrounds you, by nature you’ll find a peace that can’t be put into words. This is the true stuff of manifestation!

If I could urge my readers to do only two things, I would tell them to meditate every morning for 5 to 20 minutes, and to pause several times each day to observe the present moment without trying to add anything to it. These simple intentions alone will set you free and give you a joy and power that an entire library of self-development books cannot impart.

These two things, meditation and mindfulness, are the true paths to bliss beyond words. And since all of our strivings in life are in the name of being happy, it makes sense to place our focus on meditation and mindfulness.

Happiness and empowerment have nothing to do with what amount of stuff we have, or with how many things we have done. Everything you could possibly ever need in terms of joy and “success” can be found when you learn to allow the moment to flow through you.
